FloodZoneCheck

What this site is

FloodZoneCheck reports county-level flood hazard scores and flood insurance uptake data from FEMA and NFIP public datasets. It is informational only and is not a substitute for an official FEMA flood zone determination for a specific property, which only FEMA's Flood Map Service Center or a licensed surveyor can provide.

No warranty on the figures

Every figure traces to a named public dataset, but FEMA's own data has known gaps — a missing structure-count denominator for roughly a quarter of counties, documented in the data quality guide — and county-level figures cannot describe any one address. Nothing on this site is guaranteed to match the flood zone or insurance requirement that applies to a specific property, and no result here should be the sole basis for a purchase, insurance, or mortgage decision.

No professional advice

Nothing on this site is insurance, financial, engineering, or legal advice. Whether flood insurance is legally required for a specific property should be confirmed with your mortgage lender or FEMA's Flood Map Service Center, not assumed from this site's county-level estimate.
